This complete engine package is designed to replace 1991 and earlier Volvo Penta 5.0L and 5.7L engines with a Volvo Penta 270, 280, or 290 outdrive. This engine package and 100% of the components are brand new and includes a 2-year factory warranty. This engine is rated at 315hp at the crank shaft. No modifications need to be made to the existing Volvo Penta 270, 280 or 290 outdrive. All complete engines are ran, properly timed and tested BEFORE they shipped to you. This engine package includes:
- 5.7L Vortec base marine engine (standard rotation)
- Aluminum hi-rise intake manifold with brass crossover
- Holley 4150 or 4160 marine carburetor (600 CFM)
- One-piece stainless steel flexible fuel line (U.S.C.G. approved)
- Electric fuel pump kit (U.S.C.G. approved)
- Oil pressure switch and oil sending unit
- Delco Voyager ignition kit- Voyager distributor, HEI coil, spark plugs and wires, misc wires for shift interrupt switch
- 12¾" sterndrive flywheel and dampner plate
- Volvo Penta early style center-rise exhaust manifolds and risers
- Throttle bracket, throttle clip, and quick connect ball joint
- Crank-driven seawater pump

We ship parts and engines worldwide! Parts orders placed before 3:30pm EST will normally be shipped same day (if the item is in stock). If you need your parts asap, UPS next day air, second day air, etc., are also available (Deadline is 3:30pm Eastern Time). Engine orders will be processed and shipped within 24-48 hours after payment-in-full is received. For special engine orders, shipping time is based on current stock and build time.
Items under 75 pounds are sent via UPS in continental USA. Items sent overseas are sent via USPS or UPS Worldwide Expedited, or air freight (depending on item weight). UPS cannot ship to P.O. Boxes.
Engine Shipping

We use different freight carriers to find you the lowest price AND safest delivery. Some of the freight carriers we use are: R&L Freight, Con-Way Freight, Estes Express, Pilot Air, USF Holland, Forward Air, Old Dominion, Overnight Express, Watkins, and Dayton Freight. Engines can be picked up at a local shipping terminal or dropped off at your location*. Engines are packed in specially designed crates made for that engine**.
All oil & lubricating fluids are drained before they are sent out (this is required by our freight carriers). All engines & parts are packed by our shipping department. Engines are then inspected by our shipping manager before they are loaded onto a freight carrier.
*Certain restrictions apply
**All Marine Power complete engines are subject to a $150.00 non-refundable crate fee; and all MerCruiser complete engines are subject to a $300.00 refundable crate fee.
For items received as described, a refund of the final invoice price (minus shipping and handling charges and a 15% restocking fee) will be issued. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and for sufficiently packing and insuring returned items unless otherwise agreed upon. Refunds will not be issued for damaged merchandise. All returns must be made within 15 days of delivery to you. No refunds for electronic parts if box is opened. All returns must have a RMA # and invoice #. 15% restocking fee on any complete engine. If parts arrive damaged in shipment, it is the customers responsibility to notify the carrier immediately and reject the damaged package. Contact Michigan Motorz of the potential damage. A claim will be filed and we will send out the identical part. If parts are damaged in shipment and the customer does not notice damage, please call Michigan Motorz LLC.
