Bottom Mount Marine Starter (14" flywheel, stern drive engines)

This starter is commonly known as the high torque gear reduction starter with the OFFSET bolt pattern with TWO LONG BOLTS THE EXACT SAME SIZE. It will work as a replacement for all stern drive i/o engine applications with a 14" flywheel. This starter is U.S. Coast Guard Approved and has the official Marine certified UL 1120/SAE J1171 stamp on the case. This is the exact GM marine starter that MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC, Marine Power, etc use on their marine engines with 14" flywheels. This is NOT an aftermarket "made in China" starter.

This will work as a replacement for:

ALL MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC, Marine Power, etc 3.0L (181ci), 4.3L, 5.0L (305ci), 5.7L (350ci), 7.4L (454ci), and 8.2L (502ci) stern drive engines with 14" flywheels. If your existing starter has TWO LONG BOLTS, then this is your starter. This is the most common starter in use today.

This will work as a replacement for:

MerCruiser applications: 1985-2007 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L (350ci), 7.4L (454ci) , 8.2L (502ci). (For 3.0L engines from 1999-2007).This starter replaces MerCruiser #50-812428A3, 50-806964A2, 50-812604A2, 50-822330A2.

Volvo Penta applications: 1991-2007 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L (350ci), 7.4L (454ci), 8.2L (502ci). (For 3.0L engines from 1998-2007). Volvo Penta part #3854751-9, and 3856004-1.

OMC applications:1986-1999 4.3L, 1989-2000 5.0L, 1986-2000 5.7L, 1990-2000 7.4L (454ci), (For 3.0L engines from 1998-1999). This starter is the replacement for OMC part #985063 and #985064.

Parts orders placed before 12:00pm EST will be shipped same day. If you need your parts ASAP, UPS next day air, second day air, etc are also available (Deadline is 3pm Eastern Time). Engine orders will be processed and shipped within 24-48 hours. Special engine orders shipping time is based on current stock and build time.

Items under 75 pounds are sent via UPS in continental USA. Items sent overseas are sent via USPS or UPS Worldwide Expedited, or air freight (depending on item weight). UPS cannot ship to PO Boxes.

Engine Shipping

We use different freight carriers to find you the lowest price AND safest delivery. Some of the freight carriers we use are: FedEx Freight, USF Holland, Pitt Ohio, Forward Air, Roadway Express, Old Dominion, Overnight express, Watkins, and Dayton Freight. Engines can be picked up at a local shipping terminal or dropped off at your location* (*certain restrictions apply). Engines are packed in specially designed crates made for that engine.

All oil & lubricating fluids are drained before they are sent out (this is required by our freight carriers). All engines & parts are packed by our shipping department. Engines are then inspected by our shipping manager before they are loaded onto a freight carrier.

For items received as described, a refund of the final invoice price (minus shipping and handling charges and a 15% restocking fee) will be issued. Buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and for sufficiently packing and insuring returned items unless otherwise agreed upon. Refunds will not be issued for damaged merchandise. All returns must be made within 15 days of delivery to you. No refunds for electronic parts if box is opened. All returns must have a RMA # and invoice #. 15% restocking fee on any complete engine. If parts arrive damaged in shipment, it is the customers responsibility to notify the carrier immediately and reject the damaged package. Contact Michigan Motorz of the potential damage. A claim will be filed and we will send out the identical part. If parts are damaged in shipment and the customer does not notice damage, please call Michigan Motorz LLC.
