This starter is commonly known as the high torque gear reduction starter with the OFFSET bolt pattern with TWO LONG BOLTS THE EXACT SAME SIZE. It will work as a replacement for all stern drive i/o engine applications with a 14" flywheel. This starter is U.S. Coast Guard Approved and has the official Marine certified UL 1120/SAE J1171 stamp on the case. This is the exact GM marine starter that MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC, Marine Power, etc use on their marine engines with 14" flywheels. This is NOT an aftermarket "Made in China" starter.
This will work as a replacement for:
All MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, OMC, Marine Power, etc., 3.0L (181ci), 4.3L, 5.0L (305ci), 5.7L (350ci), 7.4L (454ci) and 8.2L (502ci) stern drive engines with 14" flywheels. If your existing starter has TWO LONG BOLTS, then this is your starter. This is the most common starter in use today.
